YAQEEN: ABSOLUTE FORM OF BELIEF

Yaqeen is an aqeedah term in Islam, related to the degree of faith. According to Islamic logic, yaqeen is a term used to describe a state of mind or a state of “postulate” that doesn’t need any further explanation or assumption. Such state is considered as “proven beyond doubt and needs no further allegations or discussions”
In Islamic tasawwuf, there are three types of “yaqeen”
1) Ilm-al-Yaqeen : Exactitude in knowing. The kind of level of precision reached by contemplating over a piece of information until it becomes “absolute truth” for the mind with additional supporting arguments and evidence.
2) Ayn-al-Yaqeen : The kind of knowing by observing with the heart, not with empirical evidence.
3) Haqq-al-Yaqeen : The ultimate form of knowing by just knowing without any philosophical entails or any reasoning related to mental faculties.
According to Islamic aqeedah, one has the right to “suspect” within normal framework until reaching absolute belief, or yaqeen.
Holy Quran mentions about the situation of Prophet Abraham(as) when he wanted have “yaqeen” over the issue of “How the corpses will arise on the judgement day?”
And [mention] when Abraham said, “My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” [ Allah ] said, “Have you not believed?” He said, “Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied.” [ Allah ] said, “Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them – they will come [flying] to you in haste. And know that Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.” (Al-Baqara 2/260)
Here, Prophet Abraham’s satisfaction is considered as “yaqeen”
Most scholars argue that the per-requiste of yaqeen is to have “normal” faith initially.
One can reach level of yaqeen in Islamic aqeedah only after believing in primary principles of faith.

READ ABUNDANTLY - “HASBUNALLAHU WA-NI’MAL WAKEEL”:

We must be certain that Allah does whatever He wishes, whenever He wishes.  Allah tells us in the Qur’an, “Verily, His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says ‘Be’ and it is!” (36:82). One must believe with certainty that Allah possesses all treasures.  Allah says: “And there is not a thing, but with Us are the stores thereof. And We do not send it down except in a known measure.” (15:21).  Also, in the Hadith Qudsi narrated by Abu Zarr that Allah revealed through His Prophet: "O my servants, were the first of you and last of you, the human of you and jinn of you to rise up in one place and make a request from me, and were I to give everyone what they requested, that would not decrease what I have anymore than a needle decreases the sea if put into it". (Sahih Muslim).

Our trust as Muslims is in the Most Beneficent and Most Merciful Allah, and, without any doubt, He alone is our Guardian and Protector. Try to recite the following words abundantly: “Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel”, “Allah is sufficient for us and He is our Guardian”, obviously keeping in mind the meaning of what you recite.  It would be commendable to recite this tasbeeh regularly after EVERY FARD SALAAH.  Encourage our children, family members, relatives and friends to do likewise.  Insha-Allah, this will re-affirm our Trust (Tawakkul) in Almighty Allah and bring about the much needed help from Allah, the Most Merciful.
